Logging in for the first time
When you start a course at the university, you will first need to logon to both the MyUni portal and Moodle, so that your modules can be added to your Moodle Dashboard (which can take up to 24 hours and should happen automatically).
To do this, first head to the MyUni portal and, if you haven’t already created a password for your student account, click 'Login support'. Then click 'Student Password Reset' , to create a password for your student account.
When the page loads, follow the on-screen instructions to create your password.
If you have already created a password, click the 'Logon' banner.

You will then be taken to a Microsoft sign-in page.

Issues logging in with a work laptop
This is normal as our systems are trying to sign in with your other accounts, which will not work. To resolve this, you have a couple of options.
Example error message: (Your error message may look different to the example below)
Option 1:
The first
option is to use a Private / Incognito window, this is a
completely clean window that has no extensions, saved passwords or
accounts.
The issue is this is more of a temporary
solution as once you close this window, you will have to
manually sign in again each time.
Option 2:
The second option is to create a new browser profile. This allows you to stay signed into all of your accounts and keep your work and student accounts separate.
If you are not sure how to create browser profiles, please toggle the instructions for your particular browser below this text, by either clicking on, or tab navigating and pressing enter to reveal the instructions.
To do this on Microsoft Edge, click the icon of a user profile in the top-right of the screen and choose ‘Set up new personal profile’.
Click ‘Start without your data’.
Tick ‘Don’t allow’, then click ‘Confirm and start browsing’.
Click ‘Next’ and then ‘Finish’.
To switch between your profiles at any point, click the same user profile icon and click on the profile you would like to switch between.
You can now continue to head back to the MyUni portal and click ‘Login’ and follow the next set of steps.
If you have Google Chrome, click the icon of a user profile in the top-right of the screen, then click 'Add Chrome Profile'.
Choose ‘Continue without an account’.
Provide a name, for example ‘Student’, and then click ‘Done’.
You are now ready to head back to the MyUni portal and click ‘Login’.
Logging into the Microsoft sign in page
Once you have reached the Microsoft sign in page, you will need to login with your full STUDENT email, (NOT a personal Microsoft account).
After typing in your full student email, click ‘Next’, and then enter your student password that you would have created previously. Then click 'Sign in'.
If your account is new you may need to setup Microsoft Authenticator. Please see our separate guidance on setting this up for the first time.
If you already have Authenticator setup either open the notification on your phone and type in the two digits displayed on the sign in page into the app, or select from one of the options presented to you on the Microsoft Sign in page.
You will then be asked if you would like to stay signed in.
When you have successfully signed in you will be taken back to the MyUni portal.
On the MyUni portal, either click the Moodle icon within the top row of icons, or scroll down to the VLE section and then click on Moodle.

When Moodle loads, you will be taken to your Dashboard.

Scroll down to the 'Course Overview’ section to check and see if you have any modules. If you don’t see anything there, don’t worry as this is normal, as it can take anywhere from a few hours up to 24 hours for your modules to appear, so please wait until the next day before contacting support if you don't see your modules.
For example, MOD123 25/26 Moodle Demonstration Course.
When your modules are visible, you are now ready to start using Moodle.
