Finding Books and eBooks

The University has a large collection of print books as well as providing access to thousands of eBooks and journal articles. You can use Resource Finder to help you locate physical books in the Library and access eBooks. 

Locating physical books in the Library at Wrexham Campus

The books are organised in numerical order. All the books in the library have a spine label consisting of numbers and letters to help you locate items on the shelves. 

The majority of books can be found on the first and second floors of the Library.
Books numbered 001 - 499 are on the first floor.
Books numbered 500 - 999 are on the second floor. 

At the end of each bay of shelving is a shelf guide. This will tell you the numbers of the books and the subjects you will find in that area. 

Our collection of fiction can be found on the ground floor of the Library. 

eBooks

An eBook is a book that has been published in print in a digital format. It can be read on a digital device such as a tablet, smart phone or laptop.

eBooks offer convenience and many of them have accessibility features that allow you to tailor the content to your suit your needs. This could include adjusting the font size, changing background colours and screen brightness.

You can also search eBook content for specific phrases or key words, make notes and highlight text.

Many of the books that we have in print are also available in eBook format. You can find these on the Library Catalogue – Resource Finder, or through links on your reading list on Moodle.

At Wrexham University we have two eBook collections – VleBooks and Academic Complete. 

All of the books have a label on the spine showing the shelf number of the book. 

A wide range of eBooks covering all subject areas. 
Sign in via OpenAthens and select Glyndwr. 

Over 150,000 eBooks on a wide variety of subjects via the eBook Central platform. 

Resource Finder is Wrexham University's library catalogue. It allows you to search for physical material including print books and journals in the library, and for online resources such as eBooks and articles.
